Defiance in Darkness

In writing Follows Arrax

Bitterroot Orphanage stands in the shadow of the Bluffs, behind a high fence and a Warden's tower. Arrax has never known anything else. He has learned to keep his head down, to hide bread under a loose floorboard, and to take the beatings meant for smaller pups. Then a frightened little wolf named Finn carves him a gift, and Arrax learns what it costs to care about someone in a place built to break them.
